      <image:caption>NEW BUILD | completed 2015 Answering the call for a ‘Contemporary Farmhouse,’ this home is built into the steep slope on site. An entry located at basement level accommodates an ease of access to avoid facing an exterior staircase during Canadian winters. The interior spaces are visually connected via a central fir-clad open tread staircase and the outdoor amenity area furthers a visual connection - pulling the outdoors into the kitchen and nook along two folding glass walls. Unique elements such as an over sized pivot entry door, a secret garden, exposed concrete flooring, rift and quarter-cut oak floors, and a dual swing pantry door complete with a circular window give this home a personality of it’s own.       <image:caption>NEW CONSTRUCTION | completed 2015 Canada Diagnostic Centres is Alberta’s premiere radiology service provider. Their core values of compassion, understanding and comfort inspired the design of their Symons Valley clinic in Calgary. RPA delivered an environmentally friendly, accessible and efficient environment with both staff and patients in mind. The true feature of this clinic is the 7 metre long mural of Nose Hill Park by Calgary Artist Stacey Watson.  The design intent was to create a fresh, welcoming and calming environment to serve the surrounding communities. Modalities within the 600 m² clinic included X-Ray, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, Mammography and Bone Density. ELECTRICAL ENGINEER: Arrow Engineering MECHANICAL ENGINEER: TYZ Engineering Ltd.       <image:caption>NEW CONSTRUCTION | completed 2012 TotalCardiology, the largest private Cardiology practice in Canada with 22 Cardiologists and over 125 staff members approached RPA to create there new diagnostic and treatment facility.  With over 1,200 m2 of clinic space, TotalCardiology's Sunridge location included their Nuclear Cardiology and Treadmill testing labs, Echocardiogram Suites, General Exam Rooms, Rapid Access Clinic and the integrated call centre.  Patient flow and experience was a critical element to the success of this project. This project was awarded the City of Calgary's Award for Accessibility in 2012. Robert Pashuk Architecture Inc. was approached by Valbella Gourmet Foods to renovate and design an expansion that would improve current customer demand as well as provide room for future growth. The deli was greatly expanded, and the café was given dedicated space in the 60 sqm addition. The design took into consideration the prominent street corner by activating the exterior area with a patio and new landscaping. The project consists of a structural steel superstructure, modern commercial cladding and commercial flat roof system as well as modern commercial energy efficient window system.       <image:caption>Tenant Improvement RPA was initially selected by Community of Christ to provide a feasibility study in 2017. The study analyzed the prospective needs of the church moving forward. After a successful partnership, RPA aided in the selection of a new space, and ultimately the design of their new church. The location is an urban downtown space which challenged the traditional notions of what a church space looks and feels like. A curved millwork wall arcs from the front to the back of the space. The curve challenges traditional notions of what a space can be and how it can be used, which allows for versatile and creative adaptions. The prominent curve distinguishes the church interior from a typical square home or office, indicating subtly to the congregants that this is a sacred and special place. Community of Christ wanted to maximize flexibility of their space for various uses and occasions. RPA researched and specified a glass folding wall that could be deployed to divide the main sanctuary space into two classrooms. Audio/Visual was a large component of the brief. Screens and speakers were required for those with hearing and vision impairments.       <image:caption>Chinook Arch Regional Library System PUBLIC BUILDING | INTERIOR RENOVATION | Completed 2019 Chinook Arch Regional Library Systems selected RPA to help with the renovation and reconfiguration of their 1,400 m² office and distribution centre in Lethbridge, Alberta. Chinook Arch provides library and IT service support for 33 libraries in 41 member municipalities across southern Alberta, on traditional Blackfoot territory. The project included creating office and collaborative spaces that helped to maximize efficiencies for daily operations and board functions. Sustainable strategies included increased daylighting of common areas, insulation and window upgrades and electric vehicle charging stations.       <image:caption>The City of Calgary engaged Robert Pashuk Architecture Inc. to act as Bridging Consultant for the proposed Mount Pleasant Affordable Housing Project. The role of Bridging Consultant is to work with the City’s internal and external consultants to facilitate the delivery of a prefabricated or modular affordable housing project of 16 (sixteen) units in the Community of Mount Pleasant. This proposed development is a 16-unit affordable housing project, including two fully accessible units and two adaptable units designed for future barrier-free capabilities. Given the pressing demand for such housing solutions in Calgary the proposed project must utilize a modular construction approach. This approach is intended to expedite the construction process for this project, and to also act as a pilot project for similar future CHC (Calgary Housing Corporation) affordable housing developments. The design intention is twofold: first, to pay homage to the historic community and the original homes in the neighborhood, and second, to create a sense of community within a multi-family development. The goal is to make residents feel like they are part of a single “home” building. People living here should feel a sense of ownership and individualism, but overall feel part of their building’s community as well.</image:caption>
